Sustaining Work Group Dates Please find below the dates for this year’s Sustaining Work Group. We have tried to vary the times as much as possible so that you have the best possible chance of being able to attend the sessions. However, we understand you are all working under difficult circumstances and if you feel it would be beneficial for these to be held as twilight sessions due to the current circumstances, don't hesitate to contact us by return email.

New NCETM website and promo video You may have already seen the new NCETM website which launched in August. It now incorporates the Maths Hubs website. Thanks to those hubs who have already given us feedback on it; we are delighted that so many of you like it. There is a short promotional video that introduces the website and highlights some of the main changes including the streamlined navigation. If you have any further feedback on the website or require any amends to your own hub page, please email info@ncetm.org.uk.

Mathematical Thinking for GCSE Teachers or departments keen to address the reasoning and problem-solving challenges of the mathematics curriculum and its assessment at GCSE are encouraged to take part in this project. Work Groups will explore professional development activities focusing on practical and accessible classroom-based approaches. Future work groups will be listed here.

Local Leaders of Maths Education Support Network for Secondary Teachers The North Mids and Peaks Maths Hub would like to invite you to join this work group. There will be three meetings in total, one per term. The first meeting will focus on sharing ideas and concerns about the new A level and in particular the use of the new calculator. Subsequent meetings will be determined from requests put forward in the first meeting and could cover for e.g. the findings of the new GCSE and moderation leading to developing schemes of learning, transition from KS4 to 5 and Core maths.
