What exactly is a Work Group?

CPD is a central feature of all Work Groups, as well as other elements such as collaboration, generating recourses and establishing networks to develop the teaching and learning of mathematics in your school, cluster, MAT etc. This short video offers a more detailed explanation.

Do I have to pay to be involved in the Maths Hub?

The vast majority of all of our Work Groups is free!

How do I receive updates of Work Groups and other CPD?

These can be found on our primary, secondary and level 3 Work Group pages and other CPD page.

I am hearing a lot about "mastery" , what is this all about?

We are aiming to improve student outcomes through a mastery approach to mathematics. We participate in the England-Shanghai Teacher Exchanges, with the aim of gaining a better understanding ourselves. There will be opportunities for you to observe a Shanghai teacher delivering a "mastery" lesson. A good deal of our Work Groups are driven by a mastery element. More detail can be found on our Teaching for Mastery page.
